How to contact Facebook support in 2026: the channels that work, and the numbers to ignore

Said Media Agency guide cover: Contacting Facebook

Facebook does not have a customer support phone number, and Meta does not publish a general support email for Facebook accounts. You reach Facebook support through the app, the Help Center and, if you advertise, Meta’s business support. Which channel works depends on the problem: a hacked or locked account, a disabled profile, a lost Page, a restricted ad account, or a copyright or impersonation report.

Around 6,600 people a month in the US search for a “Facebook support phone number” (Semrush, September 2026). Most of them have just lost access to something that matters: a personal profile with years of photos, a Page that runs a business, or the admin account behind an ad budget. This guide maps each real channel to the problem it solves, and explains how the fake helplines in those search results operate.

The short answer

  • No phone line, no general email. Nobody at Meta answers a phone about Facebook accounts.
  • Hacked or locked? Start at facebook.com/hacked or Meta’s Account Recovery Hub.
  • Disabled or suspended? Log in and follow the review on the notice screen.
  • Still logged in? Use Help and support in the app, including the Support Inbox and the AI support assistant, or Report a problem.
  • Meta Verified subscriber? Your subscription includes chat or email support for that profile.
  • Page, Business Manager or ads? Meta’s business support, through the Meta Business Help Center.
  • Copyright, trademark or impersonation? Meta’s dedicated report forms.

Is there a Facebook support phone number?

No. Meta does not operate a phone line for Facebook account support. The number that appears most often online, 650-543-4800, is the main line of Meta Platforms as listed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It is a corporate headquarters number and it does not open a support case.

Every other “Facebook customer service” number is either a third-party directory listing or a scam. The scam version is simple: a page or ad promises “24/7 Facebook agents”, the person who answers asks for your login details, a verification code, remote access to your phone or a payment, and the account you were trying to save is then lost for good.

Is there a Facebook support email?

No general one. Meta does not list a support email for Facebook users, and the contact forms that disabled accounts once used have been retired. Addresses that still circulate in forums and old articles will not open a case.

Emails from Facebook are worth learning to recognize. Meta sends its messages only from fb.com, facebook.com, facebookmail.com, instagram.com, meta.com and metamail.com, or their subdomains. Facebook’s security alerts, such as a notice that your email address was changed, come from facebookmail.com and often include a link to secure the account or reverse the change. Use that link before you do anything else. A message about your account from any other domain is not from Meta.

The real channels, matched to your problem

1. You can still log in

Everything starts in the app. Open the menu, go to Help and support, and you will find the Support Inbox, where Meta posts updates about your reports and account, and the central support area Meta has been rolling out since December 2025. In March 2026 Meta added an AI support assistant there. Meta says it can explain your options, walk you through steps and take some actions for you, including submitting appeals. You start the conversation; it never starts one with you.

For broken features, use Report a problem in the same menu, or shake your phone on the screen where the problem happens. Reports help Meta fix bugs, but in our experience they rarely bring a personal reply. Our guide to Meta’s two support hubs explains what each one handles.

2. Your account was hacked or locked

This is the best-served problem on the list. Go to facebook.com/hacked, or start from Meta’s Account Recovery Hub, which groups the official recovery links for Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and Threads. If Facebook asks for a video selfie or an ID, complete it in one sitting, on a device you have used before.

“Locked”, “suspended” and “disabled” are three different states with different fixes, and confusing them wastes time. Our guide to the difference shows which one you are looking at.

3. Your profile was disabled or suspended

There is no address to write to and no number to call. Log in to the account and read the notice. If a review is available, that is where you disagree with the decision and complete any identity check. Meta’s own Help Center article for suspended or disabled accounts describes the same in-app route. The notice shows how long you have to act, so do not spend that time waiting for a reply from a channel that does not exist.

A notice that cites the Community Standards without naming a post is common, and it can still be answered. Our guide to a disabled Facebook account with no example covers how to approach it. If the decision looks wrong and the account matters, that is the work behind our Facebook account recovery service.

4. You lost a Page with the profile

Pages are run by profiles. If your profile was the only admin and it was disabled, the Page becomes unreachable even though it still exists. Whether it comes back with the profile or needs its own process depends on how admin access was set up. Our guide to recovering a Facebook Page after the profile is disabled walks through both cases. The lesson for every business: keep at least two admins on any Page that earns money.

5. You subscribe to Meta Verified

Meta Verified includes account support through chat or email for the subscribed profile. It is the closest thing Facebook has to a human support desk for individuals. Two limits matter: the subscription must already be active on the profile with the problem, and the support agents do not overrule enforcement decisions. Our Meta Verified guide covers when it is worth paying for.

6. It is a Business Manager, ad account or Page problem

Meta’s business support is a separate channel. It lives in the Meta Business Help Center and Business Support Home, where admins can see restrictions in Account Quality, request reviews for ad accounts and assets, and reach support by chat on many advertiser accounts. Availability varies by account and region. For restrictions on a portfolio or ad account, see our Business Manager and ad account appeals page, and if verification is what failed, why Meta business verification fails.

Intellectual property and impersonation reports go through their own official forms in Meta’s intellectual property help and the Facebook Help Center. They are handled by dedicated teams, and a copyright removal comes with a counter-notice process if the claim against you is false. If someone is running ads with your face or brand, our guide to getting scam ads that use your identity removed covers the reporting routes.

How fake Facebook support works

Fake support reaches Facebook users through four doors:

  1. Search results and ads listing “Facebook customer service” numbers.
  2. Messages to Page owners from accounts named “Meta Support”, “Page Policy” or similar, warning that the Page will be deleted for a violation unless you appeal through a link.
  3. Comments under your posts from “recovery” accounts, often minutes after you write publicly that you were hacked.
  4. Emails from domains that look like Meta’s but are not on the list above.

All four end the same way: a request for your password, a login code, access to your device, your business documents or a payment. One rule exposes all of them: real Facebook support never needs your password or a login code, and it never charges a fee to review an account. Real notices about a Page or ad account appear inside Facebook, in the Support Inbox or Account Status, not in a Messenger chat with a stranger. Our breakdown of recovery scam messages shows the scripts, and they are the same on Facebook.

If you already entered a code or a password on a fake page, change the password from a trusted device, turn on two-factor authentication and remove devices and apps you do not recognize. If you paid someone, contact your bank or card provider the same day.

What to expect, honestly

Meta does not publish response times for its support channels, and none of them come with a promised outcome. When the hacked-account flow can verify you, recovery is often quick because that part is automated. Human review of a disabled profile or a restricted Business Manager takes longer. In the agency case we publish, a Business Manager with 14 client ad accounts came back on day 17, through official channels and after the evidence was rebuilt.

If you are an Instagram user as well, the channels are largely shared. Our guide to contacting Instagram support covers the Instagram-specific routes.

When outside help makes sense

We are not Meta, and there is no legitimate support line into it from outside. Any service that claims one is either misleading you or breaking Meta’s rules, which puts the account at further risk. What a legitimate consultant can do is work the same official channels with more precision: identify which route the case belongs to, prepare the evidence, and tell you honestly when there is no path left.

If you have tried the channel that fits your problem and you are stuck, a free case review starts from your notice. We reply within 5 business days, we decline cases where the violation looks genuine, and we will never ask for your password or login codes.

Frequently asked questions

Does Facebook have a customer service phone number?

No. Meta does not run a phone line for Facebook account support, and no phone call can unlock, restore or review a Facebook account. Support happens inside the app, in the Help Center and, for advertisers, in Meta's business support. Any number advertised as a Facebook helpline is either unrelated to Meta or a scam.

Is 650-543-4800 Facebook's support number?

It is the main telephone number of Meta Platforms, the company that owns Facebook, as listed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. It is a corporate headquarters line. Calling it does not open a support case, and nobody on that line can review a disabled, locked or hacked Facebook account.

Can I email Facebook support?

Meta does not publish a general support email for Facebook users, and the old web forms for disabled accounts have been retired. Real emails from Meta come only from fb.com, facebook.com, facebookmail.com, instagram.com, meta.com, metamail.com or their subdomains. Treat any other 'Facebook support' address as fake.

How do I talk to a real person at Facebook?

For most users there is no direct route to a person. The main exceptions are Meta Verified, which includes chat or email support for the subscribed profile, and Meta's business support for advertisers, where chat is available to many but not all accounts. The support assistant inside the app is an AI that can guide you and file some requests.

How do I contact Facebook if my account is disabled?

Try to log in and follow the notice on screen. If a review is available, that is where you disagree with the decision and complete any identity check. There is no separate phone number or email for disabled accounts, and the old disabled-account contact forms no longer work.

Is a message from 'Meta Support' about my Facebook Page real?

Almost never. Messages that say your Page will be deleted for a violation unless you click a link, sent through Messenger, comments or email from a non-Meta domain, are one of the most common phishing scripts against Page owners. Real notices appear in your Page's Support Inbox or Account Status inside Facebook.
